Upright Freezers repair in Toronto & the GTA
An upright freezer trades the deep box for shelf access, and almost every one of them is frost-free. That means a defrost heater, a bimetal thermostat and a timer or control board cycling several times a day, plus an evaporator fan pushing cold air onto the shelves. Those extra parts are exactly what fails: when the defrost cycle stops running, ice builds on the rear wall until the fan can no longer move air past it.
Our certified technicians repair upright freezers across Toronto and the GTA, usually the same day. Every job starts with a written diagnosis and an upfront quote, we fit genuine OEM parts, and the work carries a 90-day warranty on parts and labour.

When to call a freezer technician
Call as soon as ice starts forming on the back wall of an upright freezer. At that stage the defrost circuit has already stopped working, and every day of ice makes the fan work harder and the shelves warmer. Early repair is almost always cheaper than waiting for the cabinet to give up, and the $79 service call is waived when you proceed with the repair.
A frost-free upright has three parts that can each stop the defrost cycle — the heater, the bimetal thermostat and the timer or control board. We test all three rather than replacing the whole assembly, which is why these repairs usually come in at the lower end of the range. Our technicians carry the common heaters, bimetals and evaporator fan motors in the van.
